# Custom domain SSL certificate not renewing

The certificate on our custom domain expired and the portal now shows a browser warning. Does renewal happen automatically?

Certificates auto-renew through our provider. This one looked like it stalled on DNS validation rather than the renewal itself. Re-verifying your CNAME kicked it loose, should be fine going forward without you needing to do anything.

Re-verifying fixed it for us too, the warning cleared within about an hour.

Do we need to do anything if it happens again on a different domain we add later?

No action needed normally, if a future domain ever gets stuck the same re-verify step clears it, or just ping us.
