Timeouts when uploading large attachments

Files over about twenty megabytes consistently time out during upload. Is there a hard size limit we should design around?

Compressing screenshots before uploading got us well under the limit without losing much quality, an image editor export at 80 percent quality is usually enough.

The hard limit is 25MB per file today. Anything larger times out rather than being rejected cleanly, which we should fix, but the limit itself is not changing in the near term.
